When they got inside, Legolas lead her to the sitting room where everyone was talking gaily.

“Forgive me everyone for leaving last night, I had to sit outside by the garden. Legolas explained apologetically. “But this is my friend Gabriella, she came to me when she heard me singing!”

Everyone stood up and went over to her, greeted her, and introduced themselves. Then they sat down and joined the conversation. The whole time Arwen noticed that Gabriella was staring at Legolas.

“Shall we go outside.” Asked Legolas, once everyone ran out of things to talk about.

“That is a fine idea, I need a bit of fresh air.” Replied Arwen.

At that everyone went downstairs. It was a warm summer day, and the air smelled like perfume. Frodo, Aragorn and Legolas started tackling each other playfully. While Arwen and Gabriella sat on lounge chairs and talked of the night before.

“What happened last night Gabriella?” Arwen asked curiously.

“Well,” She began. “I had heard someone singing the most beautiful melody I had ever heard. I walked into the garden and saw Legolas. Don’t tell him but I am very fond of him.”

“I can tell by the way you look at him.” Arwen explained. “But do go on.”

“So I told him I loved his singing. He introduced himself and I to him. Before I knew it, he invited me to sit and listen. His voice was so beautiful I fell asleep, and the next thing I knew he was next to me in the morning waking me up.”

“That is a very beautiful story, and don’t worry, I won’t tell him.” Arwen replied smiling.

“Thank you Arwen.” Gabriella replied gratefully.

Once they had finished talking, Aragorn, Legolas, and Frodo came over to them laughing.

“You three act like children!” Arwen exclaimed.

“Well you two are much too proper!” Retorted Frodo, laughing.

“Lets go inside its nearly time for the evening meal. Arwen implied.

“Before you three even get near the dinner table, you need to clean your hands and faces!”Arwen said laughing at them.

After everyone ate their fill, they went onto the balcony to have some wine and tarts. After a while everyone started to get tired. It was Aragorn and Arwen who left first and then Frodo. When it was just Legolas and Gabriella, they started talking about the night before.

“Oh Legolas would you sing to me again?” Gabriella asked passionately.

“Of course, I’d love to sing.”

The same the happened; she fell asleep and he kissed her good night, but this time he carried her to her bed, and he went back onto the balcony and slept on a lounge chair.

Later the next day, Legolas learned that Gimli was in Gondor, by one of the guards. Legolas was so excited that he ran down the street, the first instant he saw the dwarf walking towards the house.

“Hey–elf-boy–!” Gimli screamed out of breath, and sweat streaming down his face.

“How have you been doing, my old friend.” Legolas responded

“Nothing that is terribly interesting.”

“Come have lunch with us on the balcony, it is too nice a day to be locked up inside.”

“Yes, shall do, I could eat a horse.”

They both walked together as people stared with wondering eyes, for they had never seen an elf and a dwarf as friends.

“Gimli!” Frodo screamed, as he ran downstairs to greet them.

“How’s the old shoulder little lad, any better?”

“Much better thank you.” Frodo said as if he was being squeezed to death. Gimli always gave big hugs.

“And who is this beautiful lady?” Gimli said staring a Gabriella with wondering eyes.

“Oh that’s Legola’s,friend, but we all know they’re more than that!” Frodo teased.

“Hello Master Dwarf, my name is Gabriella.” She said with a kind smile.

“You have picked a sweet one off the ol’ tree, eh Legolas.” Gimli said under his breath. All three of the walked up the stairs to the balcony, where they met up with Arwen and Aragorn.

“Why Gimli I haven’t seen you in the longest time?” Arwen exclaimed. “What have you been up to lately?”

“Yes, and how are you?” Aragorn added.

“Well nothing interesting, except, I did visit Rivendell two years ago and I found that no one is there anymore.” Gimli explained. “Arwen what has become of the elves, why are they not there?”

“They refused to live in Middle-earth, they think it isn’t safe. They have sailed to the Gray Havens.”

“Oh I am sorry, Arwen.”

“Please don’t be, they made a bad choice.”

“Hey elf.” Gimli said in a friendly way. “I bet you I can run faster that you to the gates of the city and back!”

“Oh, are you proposing a challenge dwarf!” Legolas answered sarcastically.

At that they both ran downstairs, and Gabriella went after them, but Aragorn and Arwen stayed behind.

“Aragorn, Did you know that Gabriella has feelings for Legolas?” Arwen said after she finished chewing.

“Yes, actually I do know.” He explained. “I also know it goes both ways. I see it in their eyes, by the way they look at each other.”

“I have a strange feeling about this love story.” Arwen said as they both walked over to the railing.

“How so I see nothing wrong. They’re both elves, and they both supposedly love each other.” Aragorn implied

“I just don’t want either of them to have their hearts broken, when they find out, if they find out, that it won’t work out.”

“They’ll be fine, just have a little faith.”
