Home in Imladris – Part 2-Taken

Celebrian was deeply saddened by the news of her daughter, but there was little that she could do about it now. Arwen was not the first child that she’d lost, however, the pain was not any less. Elrond was unaware of her return until he’d went for the noon meal and found that she’d come to his right to eat at her old posittion at the table.

Lunch that day was nothing but usual. Without warning, he took her in his arms befor evryone, not careing about being proper. She returned his embrace as gasps filled the hall.

Now they walked togetherin the woods near the river under the afternoon sun, speeking of the things that had happened while they were apart. A slight unnatural noise cought their attention, but they dissmissed it as a squearl and continued on. A heavvy fealing of unease filled the air forcing them to return to the city. Her wound began to throb, also a sign to leave.

Elrond left Celebrian at her doorway late at night to go into his own room. She had a hard time going to sleep, but he drifted away as soon as his head touched the pillow.

Some three houres untill light, a crashing sound roused the whole house. It had come from Elrond’s rooms. When Elladan and Elrohir came, it was to see their mother standing just inside the door using the fraim for support.

Blood was splattered around the room, some was that of Uruk-Hai, but most was elven {from the faint glow it gave off}. Elrond’s sword lay shattered in the middle of the floor. The lamp that had fell, creating the crashing noise, had spread oil around it, which was now ablaze, but far enough away from other things so as not to catch fire to the whole room.

“What happened in here, Mother?” Elrohir asked in a whisper of fear.

“You know as much as I do.” Celebrian said.

Elladain thought to himself, If this is what happened to my father, what beast did it to him? Could he still be alive? Valar save him from deth if he begins to fade.

Glorofindel was next to the scene. Celebrian turned to him.

“Send a serch party, but wate for me. I will not stay.”

“My Lady, you should not go. We will be able to retrieve him.” he protested.

“Not if you could see that room, and as he and Elladan and Elrohir came for me, I will come for him, nomatter the opposition.”
