Chapter Elven: A New Friend

Draco noticed her reaction. He realized he had made a mistake. “Anais…” he took a step toward her, but she backed away.

“Just stay away from me!” she hissed, and returned to Ron and Hermione.

“That was low even for you, Malfoy. You say you’re her friend and then you try and get another of her friends in trouble.”

Draco stood there with his mouth open and his eyes wide. He couldn’t believe her. Would she rather be with Scar head and his friends? Before he had a chance to ask her anything Madam Hooch came back and dismissed everyone.

As Anais went inside, she kept her arms crossed and eyes on the floor. She was furious with Draco. She wasn’t paying attention to where she was going and bumped into someone.

“Sorry,” she mumbled. She had bumped into Fred.

“What’s wrong with you?” he asked. Anais whipped away a tear that had escaped.

“Malfoy,” Hermione answered for her.

“I’m sorry,” Fred wrapped an arm around Anais as Draco walked by, as if thinking the blonde haired boy would pounce at any moment. Fred took her to the Gryffindor table.

“There’s noting to be sorry for. You warned me and I didn’t listen,” she sighed. Fred rubbed his hand up and down her back in a comforting motion.

“You were just doing what you thought was best. No one finds they’re true love at eleven.”

Anais couldn’t help but laugh, {If only you knew I was 111} she thought.

Just then, Draco strode up to the Gryffindor table. He had a threatening look on his face.

“Get your filthy Weasley hands off of her !” he hissed at Fred. Fred didn’t remove his hands.

Draco turned to Anais, “Come on, Anais,” he commanded, trying to kiss her.

Anais moved closer to Fred and snapped, “Auta miqula yurk!” -go kiss an orc-

Draco put a hand to his chest pretending to look hurt, “Tanya awra! Amin nauth- lle gwaith amar amin.” -That hurt! I thought you loved me-

Anais rested her head on Fred’s shoulder, ” Uuner uma,” – no one does- she sighed.

Draco stood there dumbstruck, “tirith ha, amin sint(?) lle ruim,” -watch it, I know your secret-. With that he walked back to his own table.

By that time everyone that had been surrounding Anais was silent, their eyes fixed on her.

“So..uh,” began Fred, thinking, “what were you two saying?” his arm was still around her, and her head still on his shoulder.

“Nothing of any importance.” she replied.
