Why? *sams view* – Right after Frodo is stung by Shelob

by Jun 25, 2002Poetry

Sometimes I catch myself asking things like why
Then I find out, it is too hard to say Good-bye
This pain is as hard as death, I fear that I might die
I was too foolish, and I let your friendship just slide by

Sometimes I catch myself asking things like why
I am slipping and falling and crying out into that good night
Darkness there is, nothing to hold on to, again I ask why
A lone tear falls, yet I cry for hope that it will be alright

Sometimes I catch myself asking things like why
I know I am not ready yet to hear myself say Good-bye
Yet the past is gone now, and its time I begin my fight
Now I must struggle on, now I must live my life.
