Who Can Say Who Heroes Are? – By Lalatiel

by Apr 23, 2002Poetry

A hopeless hope, a blackened star
Who can tell who heroes are?
Braveheart, yes, but small we are
Who can tell who heroes are?

The world in the hands of a halfling small
A golden ring, the fate of all
Carried into barren lands
By the halfling’s falt’ring hands
A sword by his trembling side
A loyal servant, in whom confide
Mithril mail, and glassy star
Who can tell who heroes are?

A hopeless hope, a blackened star
Who can tell who heroes are?
Braveheart, yes, but small we are
Who can tell who heroes are?

Not an army, merely two
On a quest that few would do
On the path to mountains black
Scarcely ever looking back
Starless sky and haunting dreams
These two are not what they seem
From their homes they wander far
Who can tell who heroes are?

A hopeless hope, a blackened star
Who can tell who heroes are?
Bravheart, yes, but small we are
Who can tell who heroes are?

Asking little, doing much
For all the world does darkness touch
Because of them, now we are.
Who can tell who heroes are?
