Undying Questions

by Feb 16, 2004Poetry

Wind is rushing,
Sky is darkening,
Spirits dampened,
When shall this end?
I ask the darkness,
When again shall we feel the softness of feathers beneath us?
Will we ever taste the flavor of bread again?
Questions come to mind,
A sleepless night ahead,
How far have we gone?
How long to go?
Cold and darkness is closing in,
Where are the ones we left behind?
Have they fallen into the darkens so similar to mine?
Love and friendship never dying,
Faithful friend why have you come?
Your fate is in mine,
And how uncertain that is,
How has it come to this?
How will it end?
Oh Samwise the brave stay till the end!
