To watch him die – Death comes to us all

by Aug 9, 2003Poetry

The lips that I, in my passion kissed
Are faded now, and cold,
Like the ever winter of the year
Life hath fallen cold.

A broken sword, reforged
By his side, blade of war and peace
My tears collect on his mortal fleash,
And still I my tears weep.

Our son shall take the throne now,
His quest in life laid out,
Loves truth caught up at last,
As I was a fool to doubt.

So in dispare I stand here,
Under brooding sky,
The tears I weep forever,
For I lived to see him die.
