The words of Elrond.

by Jun 16, 2003Poetry

Like winter’s night without a star thy life shall fade,
And thysong forever shall be lost.
And gone thy love, wither’d, dead,
Is thy life to be this?

Bitter mortality thy lips shall kiss,
And thy immortal blood shall run dry,
And by time or the sword thy King shall die,
Is thy life to be this.

And when thy tears may no more fall,
And the life thee so wish for is lost
And the stars cannot be reached by thy mortal hands
Thy long years of life shall be lost,
And I ask thee this, is this what thee wish:
To die so alone one soon day?
