The Window of LothLorien – A Poem

by Mar 11, 2003Poetry

My window faces a cold darkness
sprinkled with cold tears
they cast their gentle blue tears
upon weeping Elves below.
In the light of lamps,
Elves,
weep.
Their lament for the grey pilgrim pass me
curling upward
To honor him
Cast by the winking lamps,
white flashes of silver,
paint the sad sky
Shedding hope on the elves of Lorien,
The wails of his companions and
the thunder of the trouble to come,
float to my window and the smokey-grey
wind bites my cheek. It’s voice carrying
the song to the stars above.
