The traveler who returns home – A happy poem 🙂

by Aug 25, 2003Poetry

I chanced there so, upon to meet
The Valley amid the Oaks so sweet,
And I was merry on my feet
And danced there so in happy beat.

My road was long, my load was high,
And such a blessing from the sky,
The stars were there and I did cry:
“The gods are with me on this nigh!”

And river splash was sounding near,
Devoid of sadness, devoid of fear
I ran upon the hearth, my dear,
Away from weary walking drear.

And so I came, returneth home,
Pleased as a king upon his throne,
Soaked and weary to the bone,
But at last I’m where I’m know.
