The Shieldmaiden of Rohan – A Poem for Eowyn

by Oct 26, 2002Poetry

Eowyn of Rohan
Eowyn the Shieldmaiden
She defeated the Witch King
Her deed of which many tales sing

Eowyn who loved Strider
Who grew to be king from a Ranger
Eowyn who won renown and fame
Eowyn who into the battle came

Eowyn who fell in love with Faramir
Son of Denethor brother of Boromir
Eowyn with soft eyes and golden hair
Eowyn the brave shieldmaiden fair

Eowyn niece to Theoden the King
Who fell from the hand of the Thing
Which Eowyn slayed with Merry
The Hobbit of the Fellowship of the Ring

When tales speak of her, people will hear
Of her bravery and that she did not fear
Anything but a cage which she broke from
And who as Dernhelm into the battle did come

Eowyn the Fair
Eowyn the Brave
Eowyn with long golden hair
Eowyn who did Save

Eowyn the Shieldmaiden of Rohan
