The Road Ahead – A poem about Frodo’s problems

by Nov 26, 2002Poetry

Life couldn’t have been any better,
Which is probably why it got worse.
I didn’t choose this path willingly,
It came upon me like a curse.

Why didn’t I mind my own business?
Why didn’t I do like they said?
I couldn’t find my own purpose,
So it came to me instead.

I am forced to continue on,
To follow the path chosen for me.
Every step lengthens the journey
There is only one way to get free.

The mission remains still before me,
I need to complete my goal.
For my own good and for others,
I will fill this empty hole.

The Road Ahead is long,
I follow it with weary feet.
Hopefully someday I’ll reach
Where now and destiny meet.
