The folly of my hope – Realisation of reality

by Jul 29, 2003Poetry

‘Twas hope that led me so far away,
And killed my friend and guide,
A hope that should last but a day;
A hope that fate denied.

Was I their hope? Thoes noble men,
The elven wisdiom’s pride,
To send with me the doom of then,
That now we cannot hide.

Answers I cannot ask in my mind now rise,
And I saw the suffering of loyaly friends at my side,
Is this hope that fed the lies,
And that saw my hope as it died.

How was it hope to take me so far away,
Alone, no friend nor guide,
A hope that should last but a day;
A hope that fate denied.
