The essence of the stars

by Nov 25, 2003Poetry

Night surrounds me, and stars do shine,
Yet in this hour no sense of time
Doth sway the ever moving years,
And shadows mass, becoming fears.

The innocence of dawn is lost,
This night is old, a hue long lost
In many dreams of sun and morn,
Where garlends wove fair maids adorn.

And still my skin in midnight hue
Hath woken dreams, and like freash dew
My eyes now see what they once saw,
Another life, in days of yore.

Each footfall lay before me, takes
Another form, and flower makes,
As trails behind a tailed star,
Reality; this it cannot marr.

And whisper’d wind is in my hair,
I saw the stars in crown so fair,
A milenium of years passed,
And through me, relived at last.

Night surrounds me, and stars so shine,
Yet in this hour no sense of time
Doth sway the ever moving years,
And daylight dawns; awakes my tears.
