The cry of Nimrodel – How the river weeps

by Aug 15, 2003Poetry

Did sing the river in melodious way
Through the night, and oft the day,
Relished in the star kissed light
Saw the world away from sight.

And here the voice of elven woe
Tells of what became, so long ago,
And how ones love was torn apart,
And grief did slay an elven heart.

Amond the mallorns in winding wood
The river rushes, as it should,
‘Twas the life, the memory then,
Anguish old, returned again.

So is sung her song once more,
Echoed throughout the forest
Turns the wheel of all the years,
Still remains her elven teaars.
