Soft to Touch – a poem

by Sep 28, 2003Poetry

Golden band with lustrous sheen,
Make the eyes of evil gleam.
Overpowers the weak of heart,
And in them jab a mortal dart.

Soft to touch,
Bold to see,
Denies the trust,
Destroys thee.

Evil to some,
Awesome to all,
And at it’s touch,
All will fall.

As it grows,
In power and might,
So grows dim
The fading light.

It overtakes,
And crushes down,
Upon the weak,
To the ground.

Death will take thee,
One and all,
And succumb to darkness,
And the fall.
