Shadowfax’s Task

by Nov 30, 2004Poetry

Pounding earth like there’s no tomorrow
Running so free, what is sorrow?
Wind whispering only he can hear
The task is barely complete, though;
The time is very near.

For him it is obedience
For others its barely common sense
For the call of a steed is freedom
If only we could see like him

Through soft eyes that catch every move of the wild
Like the curiosity of a little child
Strong heart, a rare mind
But the time is nearing, he seeks only what he will find
