For those that don’t know Haiku is an ancient Japanese art form, usually inspired by nature or emotion. A Haiku always consists of three lines, the first with 5 syllables, the second with 7, and the third with 5.
Last time I wrote haiku on the members of the Fellowship, these are on several places in Middle Earth.
Peaceful, bright and green
In Eriador, The Shire
Home to the Halflings
The village of Bree
Home to the Prancing Pony
Found at a crossroads
Prosperous place, Dale
Destroyed by the dragon, Smaug
Was rebuilt by Bard
An Elven haven
Rivendell, a place of learning
Wisdom prevails here
Lothlorien is
The land of blossoms dreaming
Elf-kingdom of peace
Home of Treeherders
Fangorn forest, or Entwood
Treebeard’s ancient home
Rohan, Riddermark
Grassland with many borders
Realm of the Horse-Lords
Dunedain kingdom
Land of valiant warriors
Elendil’s Gondor
Rich, vast, Dwarven realm
Moria, or Khazad-dum
Evil reclaimed it
Orthanc, Isengard
Made evil by Saruman
Ents marched against it
“Tower of the Moon”
Made into Minas Morgul
“Tower of the Wraiths
Fortress of Sauron
The Dark Tower, Barad-dûr
Place of great evil
Orodruin, Mount Doom
Sauron’s forge for the One Ring
Mountain of red flame
The Undying Lands
Valinor, to which Elves sail
Where the Valar dwell
I hope you enjoyed these, and I hope you will take the time to tell me which were your favorites and which ones you thought stank! Thanx
