Not A Simple Elf – a poem about a character of my book

by May 26, 2003Poetry

They thought she was a simple Elf
Who did maiden things
But she was an Elven warrior
Who did not fear sword or knife

She was burdened by day
And watchful at night
Trying to help and protect
All she wanted is to be their aid

Her emotions were hidden
By her ruff outside
Her lovely apearnce
Did not show

She cries herself to sleep
But sleep she does not
And she has to prepare
To face a new day

She’s like a mastermind,
She is in disguise
Has to but a mask on her pain
To afraid to show it to the world

She is lonely inside
But busy outside
She never tells
But all she wants is someone who cares
