All o’er this land have I wandered so,
By the mountains root and the sea,
But na’er did love find my heart,
And find me ever will he?
O I long for all worlds and all secrets,
And I wish for the stars and the sun,
As I run through the hills of the meadows,
And laughter and song follow fun.
O’er all this land did I travell,
The forests and the moors I have seen,
And the chill of the wind atop the mountains,
Yet love has my heart na’er seen.
So run will I through the meadows,
And sleep will I in the wood,
And laugh will I with the mountain,
And one day will my heart be understood.
