“My choice” – a poem

by May 7, 2002Poetry

Frodo at the Council of Elrond
My soul hurts very much
Pain is tearing my heart
I don’t know what to do
I have to make a choice,
Between my future,
and the future of the world.
My friends look at me,
In there eyes I’m seeking answers
There eyes are saying:
the world’s future,
but they are sad and frightend.

I hear an elvish tongue:
Annan utulie, si (Time has come, now)
I understand these words
I made my mind
I have to tell my decision at the council
But I’m running away from it
I don’t want to think about it
It’s to hard for me
I want to forget everything
Go back in time,
to the time I was happy
And didn’t have bigger troubles,
Than what to eat on breakfast.

Everyone knows,
the decision has fallen,
I can’t escape now
But I’m afraid I will fail…
