Middle Earth’s Battle Cry – A Poem

by Jun 12, 2003Poetry

A storm is brewing in Middle Earth tonight.
The lightning bolts are flashing.
An ancient army is moving tonight.
The thunder clouds are clashing.

A fire is burning in Middle Earth tonight.
Within the heart of the forest.
The wheels of power are turning tonight
as they sing their angry chorus.

The ents are marching in Middle Earth tonight.
Evil flees from their angered song.
A river is running through Fangorn tonight.
But its course will change at dawn.

Lightning flashes, thunder crashes.
Flames are filling the dark sky.
Orthanc is falling, Men are calling.
Roaring Middle Earth’s battle cry.

War is upon Middle Earth tonight.
Ten thousand orcs, maybe more.
But the Riders of Rohan are moving tonight.
The moon is shining on their swords.

A fortress is falling in Middle Earth tonight.
Help is sorely needed.
Good and evil are brawling tonight.
The Riders are being defeated.

But a wizard is riding in Middle Earth tonight.
Treachery has aroused his wrath.
The whole world waits on Gandalf the White
and noble, swift Shadowfax.

Lightning flashes, thunder crashes.
Flames are filling the dark sky.
Orthanc is falling, Men are calling.
Roaring Middle Earth’s battle cry.

Isengard is being stormed tonight.
Helm’s Deep is being defended.
The fate of the traitor Saruman the White
will be known before night is ended.
