Many Do Look – The Thoughts of One Who Seeks

by Jun 6, 2003Poetry

Long have I sought
Through toil and trial,
Many a year have I fought

Many do look, few do find

I seek that distant shore
O’er hill and plain,
To find it may take ever more

Many do look, few do find

Hear not they the call?
I have no answer but this:
When that blessed land I reach, to my knees I will fall

Many do look, few do find

Let no man say ‘Chosen n’er was I’
For let it be known,
All have the chance before they die

Many do look, few do find

O’er stormy waters seek out that which was lost,
So long ago,
At a great cost

Many do look, few do find

The Light of Earendil will be my guide
On my journey home,
For even darkness cannot hide
The hope I see on those distant shores of white foam

Valinor, ancient blessed realm!

Many do look, few do find.
