Lost – A Poem

by Jan 25, 2003Poetry

Eyes of a thousand stars held in the deeps eternity
Wander the vast expanse beyond thy home,
Searching for thy people yonder
Under the sky, the art lost, alone.
Evenstar, sweet Evenstar, whose light did never fade
Is drawn away, is lost this day, beneath the mortal shade.

Lips of a hundred songs, bitter and sweet
Say words of the elven land beyond the flowing sea,
Searching for thy people hither, for gone now they shall be
Under the sun the art lost, afraid.
Evenstar, oh Evenstar, whose world would never end
Is drawn away, is lost this day, as pain shall never mend.

Evenstar, sweet Evenstar, whose light did never fade
Is drawn away, is lost this day, beneth the mortal shade.
