Lorien – Silence

by Jul 20, 2004Poetry

Lorien, thou art a heaven upon this earth;
Alone did once I wander here,
A land beyond all worth;
But now thy leaves are faded,
Yet still the river weeps,
But paths remain untrodden,
And the land so silent sleeps.

I remember in your youth that
Thy heart was seldom seen,
And secret from all others
Rulled your king and Queen,
And one alone still dwells here,
Of the days far lost,
A sadness lingers softly,
As faint as dew like frost.

A silence in an echo,
Forever to extend,
A cry of “estel…estel”,
Brings silence to an end.
