Lament of the Galadhrim – A song at Mithrandir’s passing

Lament of the Galadhrim

Mithrandir, Mithrandir,
We have the news this day,
Mithrandir, Mithrandir,
That you have passed away.

None of us can tell
Whither you will go,
We are told you fell
Whither will you go?

Will you go, to Mandos’ Halls,
Or yet beyond, to Lorien
Where dreaming flower falls?
Or will you pass beyond the Sea,
Beyond the Outer Rim?
Mithrandir, Mithrandir,
Have you news of him?

Mithrandir, we heard you fought
The Morgoth demon’s might,
Mithrandir, Mithrandir,
We mourn for you this night.

Mithrandir, you travelled far,
With many different friends,
And we lament beneath these stars,
Because your journey ends.

Mithrandir, we heard you fell
To keep this Earth in light,
Mithrandir, who fought, and fell,
For him we sing this night.

Mithrandir, the Pilgim Grey,
Who came across the Sea,
How bitterly we weep this day,
For you we shall not see.

The stars are far, the air is cold,
The darkness sorrow lends,
We will lament till night is old,
Because your story ends.

A/N: I don’t own Middle-earth. It’s all Tolkien’s. But reviews are very very much appreciated!
