Infesting dreams

by May 6, 2004Poetry

The ocean raw drives me insane.
I fight myself,
Lonely though I am.
My personal battle with pride.
It’s under my skin.
Infesting my dreams.
Invading my essence.
A triumph to makers, far away.
I draw blood as I bite my lips,
To stifle a scream.
Sight is my enemy,
I must destroy it.
The placid waters my undoing.
The gulls cry my ruin.
All is lost, I’ve been vanquished.
I come from weakness to home.
