I’m Standing Here

by Apr 14, 2006Poetry

I’m standing here in the dark
Will someone bring the light?
I’m standing here afraid
Will someone remove the fright?
I’m standing here in the rain
Will someone come cover me?
I’m standing here in pain
Will someone comfort me?
Anyone?

We all claim to be so strong
But what on earth is strength
We all claim to stand so tall
But none can reach the length

I’m standing here in tears
Will someone wipe them away?
I’m standing here so lost
Will someone show the way?
I’m standing here forlorn
Will someone be a friend?
I’m standing here with my heart torn
Will someone help me to heal?
Anyone?

We all claim to be so strong
But what on earth is strength
We all claim to stand so tall
But none can reach the length

So who is different from the rest?
Who can help me through this test?
Who will go the second mile?
Who will try to make me smile?
Who is there whom I can trust?
Who is more than a false crust?

Anyone?
