I Watch My City Burn – I Watch my Friends Die

by Jul 20, 2004Poetry

I watch my city burn,
I watch my friends die,
I watch the orcs kill all that willn’t turn,
No more will we see the blue skies.
I can’t leave my post,
No, not by the White Tower,
Yet so great is Sauron’s host,
Like water out of a shower.
All’s I can do is watch,
Sit down and be quiet,
For our land will never be saved,
Even when the sun is at it’s highest.
So tis the end,
On the city of white stone,
Here is where I will be slain,
The orcs shall devour my bones.
Nothing here,
No hope,
Only fear.
I watch my city burn,
I watch my friends die,
No more ever in this life,
Will I see the beautiful skies.
