I am my own prison – a poem

by Jul 12, 2004Poetry

I am my own prison
To myself I keep everything hidden
Alone I am not free

As the truth keeps slipping farther away
I’m only losing me

The Earth may turn
And fires burn
And Nature does as it’s bidden

But as long as I stay
Binding myself far away
I am my own prison
