“Here At The End Of All Things” – The Passing of the Darkness

by Jun 25, 2005Poetry

It is over!
It is done!
The tireless battle has been won!

I can remember the Shire again!
Yes, the darkness will pass, but not all the pain.
But there!
The orchards are in blossom, there are strawberries and cream!
I can see the shady trees, and the laughing stream!
Middle Earth shall be reborn,
In the coming of the morn!

Yet I am tired Sam, so very tired from my task.

I do not think I can wait for what the new day brings.
I am glad you are with me Sam, here at the end of all things.
