Heaven On Earth

by Jul 12, 2004Poetry

I try to block out the world
Staring at the blue shy above
Feeling the sun’s sweet rays
Yet the cars beeping in the distance
Draw me from my home

My perfect world
Hidden in the depths of my soul
Where our innermost desires
Can be recognized
“Like the twinkling of bells”
I can hear my destiny

No one is able to understand
Happiness eludes me
My broken smile is wearing thin
Tears stain my eyes at night
And my world has grown cold

Death holds no power over me
For it is the only way I can reach my home
I would give this world for another
One last wish
For heaven on earth
