Girl With a Pearl Earring

by Jun 24, 2004Poetry

She stares out from the canvas,
Searching for something she cannot find.
Ever staring over her shoulder,
Her dark eyes filled with wonder.
The teardrop earring dangles, motionless,
Catching the light.
Her lips part gently as if about to speak,
But silence surrounds.
She remains frozen in time,
Forever a mystery to the world.
