Frodo’s Thoughts – His thoughts on his journey

by Feb 4, 2003Poetry

I wonder if this quest of mine
is really meant to be
and if the answer must be yes
then one must ask “why me?”

The lonely road that lies ahead
seems more than I can bear
The road that leads to Mordor’s gates
The road to Sauron’s Lair

The flaming eye that haunts my wake
The pain I can no longer take
this quest will cause my heart to break
but my courage will not shake.

I won’t allow myself to fail
I cannot let Sam see me falter
The Evil side will not prevail
My life remains forever altered

the task I bear
is set in stone
the future now of Middle-Earth
relies on me alone
