Forsaken..

by Oct 18, 2003Poetry

Spring can bring no new life…
To a world cast of frigid stone…
A hundred thousand tears I’ve shed
I won’t face my life alone…

Summer brings no laughter…
In the days that used to be…
Alone I stand in prayer and wish,
That it were you and me…

Autumn brings new color…
Yet it seems grey to my eyes…
A new shadow passes overhead
But no one can hear my cries…

Winter brings it’s icy veil…
To that once bright and fair…
Like night that comes without a star
It’s far too much to bear.

Only death shall ever take us…
We made that vow and it was shown…
But it comes, and strikes at will
How could I have known?

If I had a chance for a proper farewell…
I would have done my best…
To speak my mind, and give my heart
to lay you down to rest.

In the end, I watched you go…
Leaving me, for good…
If I had to die…to see you again…

Have no doubt…

I would.
