For What Cost do we see forever? – A Poem, a look into the life of elves, and their immortality.

by Apr 24, 2005Poetry

They say it would be grand,
To live life ever-last
To be forever alive
And watch the days pass and pass

Yet they not know,
The curse that they call a gift
To never fall ill,
To never know death that wont come swift

We can watch an age or more
Fly right by
Yet the mortals do not know
That we are happy, it is a lie

Inside, troubled deep are our thoughts
Troubled deep are our feelings
Tormented our souls
Time is so slowly reeling

Condemned we are
Too live for long to far
Yet here we are
Still breathing
