Flying Birds About the Trees

by Nov 15, 2004Poetry

Foaming water brings her merry song
To sigh and stretch and turn for long
On golden shores rich with sand
Which shells and pearls call their land
The light gleams gold in crescent way
High and low on frosty sway
The gulls cry out enchanting hymns
Of peace along the ocean brims
Green leaves in trees shine in the light
Fluttering to their dance at height
The white birds swoop and fly about
From sea leap up the silver trout
Here have the gnomes made their abode
By silver sea, by golden road
Where hills of green stand by the sea
With flying birds about the trees
