Eowyn’s Sadness – A Poem

by Aug 8, 2002Poetry

Eowyn’s Sadness
I love him
But he does not love me
He loves another
He does not love me

What must I do?
As every one but me leaves for war
I must stay at home
Oh if I were a man

I am not afraid of anything
Only a cage
I desire to join Theoden into battle
But I can not

Will I ever see Aragorn again
My King is leaving for the Paths of the Dead
He will not allow me to come alonside him
He does not love me

I will not be locked away
Where Excitment Adventure and Danger
Await me outside somewhere
I must get away

I love the King
He loves another
He does not love me
