Don’t Go Where I Can’t Follow – the woe of Samwise the brave

by Jan 28, 2003Poetry

Mr. Frodo, please wake up
The Thing has passed
She’s back in her cave.

Mr. Frodo, please wake up
You can’t leave this thing to me
Please, take me with you to the grave

Mr. Frodo, don’t go where I can’t follow
Don’t leave this thing to me
Don’t pass this on to me.

Mr. Frodo, don’t go where I can’t follow
Even if it takes all of your strength
Don’t dwell where I can’t be.

Mr. Frodo, it’s time to go
You don’t have to worry ‘bout
Her no more

Mr. Frodo, it’s time to go
The sun is shining,
I feel it through the door.

Mr. Frodo, the evil has passed
And the Stinker is gone, too.
Into her lair him I threw

Mr. Frodo, the evil has passed
Samwise the Brave has pricked her
And now he doesn’t know what to do.

Mr. Frodo, if I have to decide
I just know I’ll botch things up.
Every time I open my mouth, my foot goes strait in it.

Mr. Frodo, if I have to decide
The fate of the world depends on me
I don’t think I can do it.

Mr. Frodo, please wake up
Don’t go where your Sam can’t follow
I’m as lost as a Proudfoot in Breetown.

Mr. Frodo, please wake up
Don’t go where I can’t follow
Hope itself with you goes down.
