Despair of the Ring Bearer – A poem

by Nov 13, 2002Poetry

I feel lost in all this despair.
Everything is wrong.
This chain around my neck feels
So heavy and so long. Trudging
On I meet new people and see
Many new things. Before me lay
Lands that I never dreamed I’d see.
But I feel so lost, so lonley, so
Far from the love I once knew.
All I feel is pain. This ring I bear
Is so cruel. But I know that the day
Will come when I will cast this thing
Into the fire. And all will be as it
Once was.
Evil will not prosper.
