Death through an immortal’s eyes

by Jan 13, 2004Poetry

Death
A new thought
It lingers in my mind
No hope it calls
To my soul
No hope for life
I do not understand this
Thing
that has taken my
Friend
away from us
For an immortal it has pain
But I see the faces
Of my companions
The race of men
have Understanding and knowing
The dwarf thinking
With a sad manner
another is gone
Hobbits with tears
And frodo struggling to go on
I cannot quite grasp the fact
Gandalf is gone
Our last hope
Our guide through peril
We go quickly
No time for sorrow
For the fear that
We might die
Like our friend.
