Coming Home – Something a little less depressing…

by Nov 13, 2003Poetry

The task is done, the battle won
I set off once again
And so I stare, the path is there
The beginning of the end.

A lighter heart, I now depart
And make my way back home
Back to the place, a warm embrace
I’ll no longer be alone.

A familiar sight to my delight
Is there just up ahead
I hear the breeze play in the leaves
Can’t wait for my warm bed.

I wear a smile for in a while
The path will finally end
I’ve been gone for far too long
So many things to mend.

Through the gate, I know I’m late
The sky’s a crimson tone
Now at my door, alone no more
So happy to be home.
