Boromir’s Thought

by Apr 15, 2004Poetry

Why such sadness, why such tears
shed for a friend, gone before his years?
Why mourn thy death and question thy will
When I am with you and love you stlil?
Why give up hope and give up life
And set aside your bow and knife?
Why forget your duties and your throne
For those left cold and alone?
Why mourn the cruel loss of me
When I ride happily to the Sea?
You are not alone; I’ll never be gone,
For in your thoughts and mem’ries I’ll live on.
The immortal life was given to me
By the love and thoughts of thee.
My spirit lives on and will forever be
Passing over Rauros until the flowing Sea.
