Arwen’s Sadness – A poem

by Mar 13, 2002Poetry

Immortal was I once but then
You came into my life
You never stayed long, Warrior
You left to end war and strife
I loved you since I met you- my dearest, my Estel
So this is your fate, my wandering star
That only time could tell
So long we were the king and queen
The white tree blooming well
So this is how it ends my love
For death’s long sleep you leave me.
My children are grown up, you see
And they no longer need me
For you I left all I knew behind like Lady Luthien
And now I see as ne’er before
The fate of the children of men.
