Arwen’s Beauty

by Mar 5, 2005Poetry

With skin as smoothe and pure as ivory
And lips like an untouched flower
And hair like an ebony silk canopy of stars
And eyes like the clearest of waters
How was he to resist her?
The immortal beauty
surely love this deep was a sin
and when he dies and she lives on
what then?
to find a love and help it to blossom like a rose
only to have the death of winter pluck its petals
but what’s this?
she chooses to melt like the snow
to fall like the leaves past autumn
all for the love of a man
