Amon Hen – A Poem

Aragorn will slay,
daring orcs that come in the light of day.
Boromir will blow,
because help will come, he knows.
Pippin and Merry conceal themselves,
hiding through cloaks woven by agile elves.
Swift Legolas shoots,
killing murderous orc troops.
Sturdy Gimli hews,
using his axe, stout and true.
No Gandalf to lead them because they think he is gone.
But they do not know, the light within him still goes on.
Sam and Frodo begin to flee,
Towards the lidless eye where it waits with glee.

Sauron wickedly waits,
till the halflings pursue to enter his gates…
