A fate?

by Dec 24, 2003Poetry

To the West I am fated,
But still, I shall stay,
Yet my heart is weeping
As the ships pass away,
The horizion is looming,
Plead do the gulls,
As my people are passing;
As pain never dulls.

Stars shine forever,
Immortal their light,
My eyes too are searching
For shores yon the night,
And faith has its healing,
As life slowly slips,
The calling is wishing
I was on thoes ships.

The dream is now ending,
Just as it became,
The snow on the bare trees
Shall ne’er be the same,
For passed now is the autumn,
The amber leaves dance,
The sunligh is fading,
Caught in winter’s glance.
