Stuntman charged over Lord of the Rings copies
A 36 year old Yugoslav stuntman has appeared in the Auckland District Court on four charges relating to the Lord of the Rings film production.
The man, who has interim name suppression, was remanded to appear again in a fortnight.
He’s accused of money laundering, making a VHS videotape copy containing film footage from the Lord of the Rings, dealing in a reproduction of the film footage with intent to defraud, and theft of two video cassettes valued at 10 dollars from the production company he worked for.
During a brief court appearance he was released on bail for two weeks, subject to a night curfew.
