Kiwis in New Zealand finally have an opportunity to see what all the fuss is about.
Rings trailer in theatres
Waikato movie audiences have had their first contact with The Fellowship of the Ring.
Advertisements for the first part of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy began screening yesterday in cinemas showing The Cell and What Women Want.
The 104-second clip features stirring music, snippets of action and sweeping shots of New Zealand countryside, where the trilogy has been filmed in the past few years
Waihi man Alastair Storrie, who saw the film’s trailer last night in Hamilton, said it was spectacular.
“I really enjoyed it – there’s some spectacular footage of National Park and heaps of glimpses of the characters and costumes,” he said.
“There’s a river of orcs running down a hillside and one glimpse of a great big battle stretching as far as you can see.
“I’ll definitely go and see it when it comes out. I reckon pretty much everyone will.”
The Fellowship of the Ring is scheduled for release this year.
Note: FOTR will premiere on Boxing Day in New Zealand.
