The Enthusiasm for the new Lord of the Rings movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, is Hobbit-forming. Prices on hardbound first editions of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth trilogy are now out of this world. The three volumes, in their original dust jackets, are priced between $30,000 and $60,000, depending on condition (London’s Peter Harrington Antiquarian Books, 44-207-591-0220).
